The Quote

"God, it's killing me"- Roger Federer, after the AO final.

Me too.

Allez, Roger, Allez. :(

First Impressions

Singapore Airlines is brilliant. Bachna ae haseeno is a bad choice for inflight entertainment. But the Singapore Sling makes sure you don't pay too much attention.

Johnnie Walker, Baileys Irish Cream, Smirnoff, Cherry Brandy, Bacardi taste even better when served for free.

People on the MRT are always zonked. They stare, but say nothing. It'd be fun to pace around and sing out loud someday.

You can't eat or drink on the MRT. Sip water, and you're bankrupt. I thank my stars for resisting the burger on the way to campus. SBI would have benefited, though.

Bus no. 199 goes to Graduate Hall, not 179. 179 drops you to Hall 2. Then you kick yourself for your impatience and walk a kilometre with 30 kilos of luggage.

My name is difficult to spell. I pay fees only after I'm Aneeh, Mandani and Sureender. Old lady, so I give her the benefit of the doubt.

Campus is hilly. No one told us that. The swimming pool is Olympic size. No one told us that either.

Post its save the day when you don't have a mobile number. Bus stop pe aaja means the one behind the Graduate Hall, not the one in front.

Tiger Beer is good, cheap beer. Chang is cheaper.

The monorail to Sentosa is Pink. Striking.

The sea still daunts me. It's been a two years since I've been on a beach. Siloso is nice.

Telemarketing can be generally annoying, but when you're paying for incoming calls, God help the caller.

Hookah at beach parties rule. The air is clear. The flavour is strong. And when you pay 40 dollars to get in, Bacardi gives you a free drink too.

You just know when an Indian DJ comes on to the console. Party Pooper.

Asshole is an interesting card game. When you win, and the people who taught you become the assholes, it's even better.

Diced chicken in dried chilli rice is awesome. The free seaweed soup with it is not.

Resources to work and organize yourself at NTU are intricate. Black Board must be implemented in all educational institutes.

Orientation through lectures can be entertaining. Singaporean doctors have the best sense of humour.

Exchange students at NTU. Diverse lot.

Surfers from New Zealand, friendly folks from Indonesia, party animals USA, chilled out USA, easygoing Europeans.

Canada, Canada, Canada.

Phillipino food is amazing. Bangus, Kaldereta, Adobo and the absolutely brilliant Brazo De Mercedez.

The Philadelphia Phillies may have created the HP Patrol, but Singapore is where hot pants rightfully belong.

"Treat your room as your home", says the sheet. Big bed, almirah, full length mirror, work station, restroom with shower cubicle, shoe rack. It's home alright.
